Funeral Services For Dr. Cain Were Held Here Tuesday A.M.
Dr. P. Cain, 72, who has resided in this city for the past thirty-five years passed away at his home on East Lincoln Street last Sunday morning after an extended illness.

Dr. Cain practiced his profession as a veterinarian until about two years ago when he became ill and placed his practice with a younger man and went to North Carolina for his health. Some time ago he returned to this city to reside but was unable to practice.

Dr. Cain was always very active in city affairs and took a great interest in politics. He was an active Democrat and believed in his party. In his dealings he was honest and upright and held the respect of all who knew him, whether they agreed with his views or not.

The funeral services were held at nine o’clock on Tuesday morning from St. Patrick’s Church with Rev. David McGoey officiating. Interment was made in the Catholic cemetery south of the city.

Dr. Cain is survived by his widow and one son, Francis. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, April 22, 1936)

Ruthven – Dr. Cain, a veterinary surgeon for many years at Estherville, often visited Ruthven when his son --- First National Bank here. Dr. Cain was a native of Prince Edward’s Island. Mrs. Cain, with his son Francis, of Greensboro, N.C., are the immediate survivors. (Palo Alto Tribune, Emmetsburg, IA, April 22, 1936)
