Superior Farmer is Dead at 67
Joseph Bueltel, 67, retired farmer of Superior, died Friday about 5:10 p.m. at Holy Family Hospital. He had been a hospital patient for about a month. Mr. Bueltel’s death was attributed to complications following surgery.Joseph J. Bueltel was born June 9, 1901, at Templeton, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Catherine Bueltel. He moved with his parents to Roselle and received his education in the schools there.
He was married Oct. 2, 1923, to Rose Loneman at Maple River, Iowa. After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Bueltel lived for six years on a farm near Roselle, after which they moved to Superior.
Mr. Bueltel is survived by his widow; four sons, Earl of Terril, Wayne, Vernon and James, all of Superior; three daughters, Mrs. Jack (Marjorie) Fredericksen, Mrs. Marvin (Bonnie) Dahl, both of Estherville, and Mrs. Delano (Janice) Helmers of Jackson, Minn.; 23 grandchildren; four brothers, Louis, Leo and Edward of Carroll, and Bernard of Halbur; also five sisters, Mrs. Ben (Anna) Deerman of Emery, S.D., Mrs. Lucille Blankenship and Mrs. Lawrence (Leona) Schulte, both of Alexandria, S.D., Mrs. Raymond (Viola) Hagedorn of Carroll and Mrs. Margaret Schrod of Arcadia.
He was preceded in death by one son, John, [Gerald] his parents and three brothers.
Funeral services for Mr. Bueltel are to be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, Rt. Rev. Msgr. James H. Duhigg officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
A rosary will be said Sunday at 8 p.m. at the Fuhrman Funeral Home.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today until time of the services Monday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 9, 1968)
