Passed Away Monday [September 24, 1906] Evening After an Illness From Tuberculosis – Funeral To Be Held Thursday
At the home near Superior on Monday evening occurred the death of Joseph J. Seidles, aged 22 years, after an illness from tuberculosis which dated back to some two years ago. Since last June he has declined very rapidly and beyond all home or help of his physician.Joseph was a very good young man and a hard worker and exceedingly industrious and while he was able to attend to it had the management of the farm and was most successful in that business. About two years ago when his health began to weaken with his mother to Colorado and spent a winter there. He came home quite invigorated and hopeful but the dread germs of this disease became manifest and despite all treatment he gradually faded in health though up to three months ago he was at his daily toil.
The funeral will be held Thursday morning from St. Patrick’s church at ten o’clock and the burial will be in the cemetery south of the city. The Democrat extends condolence to the stricken family and especially to the mother [Mary Francis Duffy Seidle Briggs] who loved her boy and was by him loved.
