Mrs. Baldwin Dies Today From Heart Attack
Mrs. A. L. Baldwin, 56, Estherville, died suddenly at her home this morning at 6:30 following a sudden heart attack. Mrs. Baldwin, who has been working at the Paris Cleaning establishment for almost a year, apparently had been feeling well and was in good spirits Wednesday evening when she retired for bed, members of her family said today.Mrs. Baldwin, whose maiden name was Ellen Frances Murphy, was born July 13, 1889, in Nebraska and was a school teacher before her marriage in 1907 at Iowa City to Albert Baldwin. She was a member of St. Patrick’s church.
Surviving are her husband and the following children: Mrs. Harley Kohlstedt, Mrs. J. A. Marshek of Des Moines, Pfc. Jean Baldwin Robinson of the WACS who is stationed in Florida, Lieut. Harriett Baldwin of the navy nurse corps who is stationed overseas and Lieut. James Baldwin, who is stationed in Louisiana. There are also nine grandchildren, four sisters and two brothers.
Funeral arrangements have not been made, pending word from relatives. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, March 15, 1945)
