Death Came Unexpectedly to Charlie Peterson
Charlie Peterson was born Aug. 12, 1884, at Wilton Junction, Ia. The family later moved to Lincoln county, Minnesota, where he received his schooling.

Death came unexpectedly at 3 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, at his home, 109 South Second street. He was apparently in good health and never complained about his troubles. His wife called him for breakfast around 6 a.m. Tuesday and then found that he had passed away.

On April 2, 1913, he was united in marriage to Hannah Johnson at Livermore. From Livermore the couple moved to Humboldt and later came to Estherville vicinity where they have lived since 1927. Four children were born to this couple, Eugene of Estherville, Mrs. Lester Weber, Fairmont, Minn., Pfc. LeRoy Peterson of Camp McCoy, and a son, Clarence, who preceded him in death in 1934. All the children, sisters and brothers and families were present with the exception of one brother, Christ Peterson, of Oakland, Calif. who was unable to be here because of illness.

Survivors are his wife, Hannah; Eugene Peterson of Estherville, Mrs. Lester Weber of Fairmont, Pfc. LeRoy Peterson of Camp McCoy, two sisters and six brothers, Mrs. Mattie Dahl, Lake Benton; Mrs. Frank Herschberger, Kenneth, Minn.; Warren and Henry of Estherville; Knute of Lake Benton; John of Ruthton, Minn.; Tommy of Humboldt; Christ of Oakland, Cal.; six grandchildren and other relatives.

Five brothers and one brother-in-law were pallbearers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 5, 1951)

Mr. and Mrs. Burt McClure and family of Montevideo, Minn.; Mrs. Joyce Haven of Kenneth, Minn.; Jens Hane, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Knudsen and Mike Christiansen of Milroy, Minn.; Mrs. Barney Fox of Livermore; Mr. and Mrs. Steve Johnson, Kerry Schultz, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Jacobson and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Hanson of Humboldt; Mrs. Phil Van De Walle of Lake Park; Mr. and Mrs. Bernie Hardecoff of Armstrong, and Mr. and Mrs. Jens Nelson of Dolliver.
