Carl Olson a long time resident and a former business man died suddenly of a heart attack in the Holy Family hospital Wednesday [December 22, 1948]. Carl was a well-known jeweler and for many years operated a fine jewelry store in the Grand theater block and at other buildings in the city.

Mr. Olson was born in Oslo, Norway. There he learned the jeweler’s trade. He came to this country at 21 and practiced his trade in Ocheydan and came here from Milford.

He was united in marriage to Anna L. Olson Oct. 30, 1930 and they have made their home in this city since their marriage. He was a member and regular attendant at the Estherville Lutheran church.

He is survived by his widow and five nephews and four nieces living in North Dakota.

The funeral services will be Friday afternoon at 3:30 from the Estherville Lutheran church the Rev. L. G. Hinderaker officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill cemetery. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, December 23, 1948)
