Resident Twenty Years
Came to Emmet County About Twenty Years Ago and Moved to Estherville Last Fall
Oliver Olson, one of Estherville’s most respected citizens, who had resided in Emmet county for nearly twenty years, dropped dead early Saturday morning from heart failure. The deceased has not been sick nor has he been troubled with the malady in the past. He leaves a wife and one son.

He came to this county and settled on a farm in Ellsworth township twenty years ago and last fall moved to Estherville where he resided until his death.

Oliver Olson was born in Nummedahl, Norway, in the year 1851. He came to America in 1853. After a lingering illness of several months duration he passed away on August 20, 1915. He was married to Stina Knudson to whom were born three children, two of whom survive him and were at the funeral service. They are Mrs. Emma Olson and Mrs. Bertha Kirchner. In 1890 he was married to Anna Johnson, to whom were born three sons. The oldest one, George Emmet, died December 27, 1914. The other two, Howard Leslie and Lawrence Marion, aged 16 and 14 respectively are still living. These son and daughters above mentioned together with the wife are left to mourn his departure. The funeral services were held in the Christian church Sunday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by the pastor, Rev. J. S. Coffin, after which the remains were laid to rest in Oak Hill cemetery.
