Child Ill Short Time
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon for Doris Hoganson the two-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hogan Hoganson, who passed away Friday [December 15, 1939] at the Coleman hospital. The services were held at the Methodist church with the Rev. Ortmeyer in charge. Burial was in the Oak Hill cemetery. Pall bearers were Joe Brown, Harold Howard, Berger Handeland and Max Soeth.Little Miss Doris underwent an operation at the hospital for obstruction of the bowels on the Friday preceding her death. She seemed to be getting along very well until complications set in which resulted in her death early Friday morning. She was a sweet, winsome little miss with a happy disposition and will be greatly missed not only by her parents but also by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Crim and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hoganson. She was the only child of the Hogansons.
Out of town relatives here to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Clem Luikhart and Mr. and Mrs. Will Daffer of Minneapolis. (Vindicator and Republican Estherville, IA, December 19, 1939)
