Mrs. A. Hartong
Mrs. A. Hartong, 67, passed away last Sunday [March 7, 1937] evening after an illness of about six weeks. She suffered a stroke at that time and was taken to the Birney hospital for treatment. The funeral services were held on Wednesday from the Sternborg funeral home, the Rev. F. D. Sawyer officiating. Interment was made in Oak Hill cemetery. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Hartong of Mason City, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Hartong of Truman, Minn., and Mrs. John Thompson of Mason City were in Estherville the latter part of the week to attend the funeral services of Mrs. A. Hartong. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, March 18, 1937)
