Mrs. Lena Fritz Dies Following Short Illness
Mrs. Lena Fritz, a resident of this city for almost fifty years, passed away Monday [January 5, 1948] evening at the Roberts Nursing home in Spirit Lake. Mrs. Fritz had been ill for a long period of time. Death was not unexpected as she had reached the age of 87.

Mrs. Fritz was born on October 3, 1860 at Cleveland, Ohio. She was united in marriage to Sam Fritz on February 3, 1880 at Dixon, Ill. Mr. and Mrs. Fritz moved to this city in 1889. Mrs. Fritz was an active woman and took active part in civic functions and lodge work. She was a member of the Evangelical church.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mayme Hart of Miami, Florida, and Mrs. Grover McCall of this city.

Funeral services were held today from the Sternborg funeral home at 2 P.M. Interment was in Oak Hill cemetery. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, January 8, 1948)
