Doughty Dies at Hospital
Frank Kester [Lester] Doughty, 74, a long-time Estherville resident, died at 8:27 p.m. Monday [August 1, 1966] at Holy Family Hospital from a heart ailment. He had been hospitalized for the past three weeks.

Mr. Doughty was born Sept. 9, 1891, at Lake Park, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Abel Doughty. He received his education in South Dakota schools.

He was married to Mabel Allen Feb. 21, 1917, and the couple moved to Emmet County in 1920. She was killed in an automobile accident in November, 1959. The couple had four children.

Feb. 6, 1960, Mr. Doughty was married to Mrs. Alice Tupper in New Prague, Minn.

Mr. Doughty was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Estherville.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dewaine Doughty of Davis, Calif., and Rev. G. E. (Pen) Doughty of New Ulm, Minn.; two daughters, Mrs. Harry (Frances) Anderson of Estherville, and Mrs. David (Berna) Klinefelter of Fort Dodge; two brothers, Charles of Wall, S.D.; and George of Custer, S.D.; and one sister, Mrs. Olive Platt of Hamilton, Mont.

Family services have been set for 10 a.m. Thursday in the Calvary Baptist Church. Public services will follow at 10:30 a.m. in the church, Rev. Denzil Neumann officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home from noon Wednesday until time of the services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 2, 1966)
