Mrs. John Swift and Mr. and Mrs. Al Graettinger of Graettinger and Mr. and Mrs. Goodwin Thoreson of Spirit Lake attended the funeral of John Darling at Estherville Wednesday morning. Mr. Darling passed away at his home Sunday [August 3, 1958] after a lingering illness. Mr. Darling was a brother-in-law of Mrs. John Swift. (Graettinger Times, Graettinger, IA, August 7, 1958)
