Mrs. Jay Collins [Florence Metzger Collins], a former resident of Sandusky, died at her home in Milwaukee yesterday according to word received here this morning. For nearly a year Mrs. Collins and her husband appeared with a stock company in this city. Funeral services will be conducted Monday and burial probably will be at Chicago. Jay Collins of Milwaukee, Wis., arrived home the first of the week for a three weeks’ visit with his parents. Jay was born and raised in this city and educated in our schools. He left here years ago and was a trooper [vaudeville, plays, etc.] Later he entered the vaudeville field. He is now connected with the highway commission in Wisconsin.

His wife passed away some six weeks ago and the ashes were brought here for burial in the family lot in Oak Hill cemetery. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, May 13, 1937)
