Estherville – Funeral services for Ernest L. Burdette, 81, Wallingford, will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at the Henry Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Fred Glasser of the Union Baptist Church officiating and burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. He died May 18 at Holy Family Hospital.

Mr. Burdette was born March 17, 1895 in Ohio County, Ky., to Obed and Margaret Obenchain Burdette and was educated in Kentucky. He moved to the Wallingford area in 1913 where he farmed all his life. He remained single.

Survivors include three persons who were raised by Mr. Burdette and made their home with him: Floyd Nelson, Sioux Rapids; Claire Nelson, Estherville; and Alleta Nelson, Wallingford; two brothers, Hubert Burdette, Dickens; and Marvin Burdette, Whitesville, Ky.; and two sisters, Mrs. W. W. Haynes, Philpot, Ky.; and Mrs. Nina Rea White, Owensboro, Ky.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
