Bronleewe Rites Set
Martin Bronleewe, 81, died at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday at his home. All members of his family and the Rev. Clyde Leeds were present at the time of death. Mr. Bronleewe had suffered a stroke nine days ago.Born April 24, 1874 at Foreston, Ill., Mr. Bronleewe came to Estherville in 1920 and went into partnership with the late Carl Wells in operating a barbershop at the Orleans Hotel. Mr. Bronleewe also barbered at Goldfield, Buffalo Center and in California, retiring two years ago at which time his shop was located below the Gardston hotel.
Married to Christine Peterson Sather, Nov. 29, 1917 at Goldfield Mr. Bronleewe is survived by his widow, one brother, George of Clarion, and four step children, Mrs. Dominic (Geneva) Novak, Mrs. Carl (Florine) Wells and Lyle Sather, all of Estherville, and Clifton Sather of McKittrick, Calif. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Marlene and Carole Sather of Estherville and Edward Sather of Dayton, Ohio.
Mr. Bronleewe was a member of the Christian church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Christian church, the Rev. Clyde Leeds officiating. The body will lie in state at Sternborg funeral home from noon Friday until 10 o’clock Saturday at which time it will be taken to the church to lie in state until time of service.
