George Bale Dies Sunday in Colorado
George W. Bale, 64, Colorado Springs, former resident of Estherville, died of a heart attack Sunday night, Dec. 3, 1972.Services will be held in Colorado Springs at 11 a.m. Wednesday with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Estherville, at a later date.
Mr. Bale was a native of Estherville and attended school here, taking college work at Northwestern University. He was associated with the Estherville Grocer Co. as a sales representative. He later went into business for himself as a druggist and also operated an appliance store. The family moved to Colorado Springs about 18 years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Doris, and one son, Larry of Casper, Who. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Bale, an Estherville attorney. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 4, 1972)
George Bale Graveside Services Set
Graveside services for George W. Bale of Colorado Springs, Colo., will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Oak Hill Cemetery, Estherville. Mr. Bale died Sunday night of a heart attack.The services will be conducted by the Rev. Bryce Hunt. If the cemetery cannot be opened because of weather, the services will be held in Grace Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Bale and her son, Larry, are expected Thursday. Memorial services are being conducted Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the Broadmoor Episcopal Church, Colorado Springs. The family has established a memorial fund. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 5, 1972)
