The remains of Mrs. Arvilla M. [Briggs] Wiltsie were laid to rest in this city on Sunday last, the Rev. F. F. Case officiating. Mrs. Wiltsie was formerly a resident of this city, and resided here until the death of her husband, something over a year ago. Arvilla M. Wiltsie was born at Sabula, Iowa, on January 27th, 1850, [cemetery records note 1849] and died at Independence, Iowa, July 29, 1915 at the age of sixty-five years, six months, and four days. She leaves to mourn her death five sons and three daughters: C. D. and H. D. Wiltsie of California; D. F. Wiltsie, of West Union; R. D. and O. W. Wiltsie, and Mrs. Clyde Gore, of Des Moines, and Mrs. E.E. Kemp of Independence, and Mrs. E. M. Mack, of this city, also two brothers and two sisters.
