Owner of Variety Store Dies
Mrs. Carrie Wilder, 59, owner of the Wilder Variety store, died at 2:10 a.m. today at her home, 409 South Tenth street. She died of a heart attack.Mrs. Wilder was taken sick shortly after noon yesterday and a physician was called. Her sister, Mary Kay Hubbard, was with her when she died.
Mrs. Wilder was born Aug. 7, 1892, in McConnelsville, Ohio. She married Guy F. Wilder Sept. 20, 1920, at Somonauk, Ill., and the couple moved to the home at Estherville where Mrs. Wilder died.
She was a member of the Methodist church.
Surviving her death are two sisters and a brother; Mary Kay Hubbard, who worked as a bookkeeper in the Wilder store; George Keyes of Estherville and Mrs. Willis Osborn of Ashville, N.C. She is also survived by her former husband, Guy Wilder.
Preceding her in death are two sister, two brothers and her parents. She had no children. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 7, 1952)
