Services in Arkansas for former Ringsted resident

Funeral services were conducted July 30 for a former resident of Ringsted, Arthur Knudsen, 78, who died at his home in Gull Shoals, Ark. of cancer. Services and burial were in Arkansas.

Mr. Knudsen was born June 4, 1890 to Peter and Marie Knudsen at Emmetsburg. He moved with his family to the Ringsted area in 1896 where he received his education.

He was a pioneer businessman in Ringsted, having owned and operated a garage where the Ringsted Implement is now located. He was an officer in the aviation division of the Army signal corps in World War I.

He was married Feb. 26, 1926 to Olga Uppenheimer of Minneapolis where they lived and later at Burlington where he was employed at the Army Ordinance plant until he retired and moved to Arkansas.

He is survived by his wife and one sister, Mrs. Sigfrid McCamish of Ringsted.
