Mrs. Charles F. Walz Dies; Rites Monday
Mrs. Charles F. Walz, 57, 315 North Fourth street, died suddenly last night of a heart attack at her home on the day of her 37th wedding anniversary.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran church with the Rev. William P. Henline officiating.

The fatal heart seizure came on Mrs. Walz suddenly last night as she was preparing to go to Holy Family hospital to see a friend. She had called a daughter, Mrs. Glen Yackle of Estherville, last evening to take her to the hospital and while waiting for Mrs. Yackle had gone into her bedroom to change clothes. Her husband heard her moan and upon investigation found Mrs. Walz had suffered a heart attack. A physician was called immediately but Mrs. Walz was dead on his arrival.

Members of her family had been in to see her during the day because it was Mr. and Mrs. Walz’s 37th wedding anniversary and she had been feeling well and in good spirits all day.

Mrs. Walz was born Feb. 18, 1898 in Poland and came to the United State as a small girl in 1906. The family came to Estherville in 1934.

Survivors include her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Glen Yackle, Mrs. William Hennick and Mrs. Merlin Wee, all of Estherville; and two sons, Hilbert and William, both of Estherville. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 11, 1955)
