Thompson at Hjorring, Denmark March 2nd 1883. To this union were born three daughters as follows: Mrs. Else Christina Peterson, Marian, who died in early childhood a the age of four years, Mrs. Martina Peterson of Estherville, Ia. Sister Thompson came to America in the years 1909, to Estherville, Ia., where she resided till called by death to her heavenly home. The husband preceded her in death having departed this life April 16th, 1918. Since coming to America Sister Thompson has made her home with her daughters, Mrs. Joseph Peterson and Mrs. Christ Peterson both of Estherville, Ia. Sister Thompson had been in declining health for a number of years. She underwent a very serious operation about five years ago from which she never fully recovered. She was a member of the Danish Lutheran church since childhood and earnest devout Christian, not fearing death but looking forward in perfect confidence, patiently waiting till her Saviour whom she loved should call her from earth scenes to the blessedness of heaven. She was a devoted faithful wife, a loving affectionate mother and a good neighbor and true friend. During her illness she received every kindness that loving hearts and kind hands could bestow. She leaves to mourn her departure the loving daughters and sons-in-law, one brother in Denmark, grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. “Let not your heart be troubled” etc. Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. conducted by P. H. Green. A large concourse of neighbors and friends were present in sympathy with the bereaved and to pay their tribute of respect to the memory of her whom they loved. Beautiful and familiar hymns were sung by a trio as follows: Miss Kate Lyman, Mrs. Nettie Morgan, Mr. George Hinshaw, pianist Miss McElveen. The pallbearers: Charles Clumb, John Amdahl, Lewis Lande, Nels Erickson, Steve Tindal and J. M. Vestrem. The floral offerings were many and beautiful. Interment at Oak Hills Cemetery. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, August 16, 1922)Note: I believe this is the same as "Laura Thompson" who is buried in Oak Hill with a date of death of 8/06/1922
