Henry W. Sillge of this place died at Prairie Du Chien, Wis., Tuesday. For the past five or six years he has been in failing health, medical treatment seemingly being of no avail. About ten days before his death he determined to try the baths at Prairie Du Chien, but without benefit as he gradually grew worse until death terminated his sufferings. Mr. Sillge was born in Germany fifty-five years ago but had been a resident of this country for many years, a greater part of the time in Wisconsin, removing to this place in 1882. He was a good citizen and neighbor. Mrs. Sillge and the eldest son who resides near Prairie Du Chien were in attendance at his death – the other children, Mess. Oscar and Ed, Miss Tillie Sillge and Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Hanson left Tuesday evening to attend the funeral. (Northern Vindicator, Estherville, IA, June 29, 1888)
