Mrs. H. Rose Died Sunday at Cherokee
Word was received here Sunday [May 30, 1941] of the death of Mrs. Anna [Connor] Rose at the state hospital in Cherokee.Mrs. Rose was one of the old-time residents of Estherville having been the wife of Henry C. Rose. Mr. Rose passed away several years ago.
Five years ago Mrs. Rose was taken ill suffering from a mental disease. She was taken to Cherokee for treatment and passed away there.
The Mahlum and Anderson ambulance went to Cherokee Monday to bring back the body. Services will be held here Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 at the Mahlum and Anderson funeral home and 2:00 o’clock in the Methodist church with the Rev. F. W. Ortmeyer officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill cemetery.
One daughter, Mrs. Clinton Hill, of Des Moines, survives. Mrs. Rose was an aunt of Nate Rose of Estherville, and a great-aunt of Mrs. Hans Johnson, also of this city. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, April 1, 1941)
