Ike Rogers Dies Tuesday After Long Illness

Another pioneer resident, Ike Rogers, passed away last Tuesday [January 20, 1948] after a lingering illness. Mr. Rogers has followed the carpenter trade here for many years up to the time of his illness.

He was born in Austin, Minnesota, May 14, 1862. He was united in marriage to Margaret Louise Hawk of this city October 25, 1892, and they have resided here since that time. He was preceded in death by his wife.

He is survived by three daughters, Miss Dorothy Rogers, and Mrs. Sam Danielson of this city, and Mrs. E. E. Peterson of Long Beach, California.

Funeral services were held from the Sternborg Chapel at two o’clock on Thursday, the Rev. Gordon Hagberg officiating. Interment was in Oak Hill cemetery. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, January 22, 1948)
