Funeral Services for Mrs. Robinson Held Tuesday P.M.

The very sudden death of Mrs. I. J. Robinson on Friday [September 6, 1935], came as a great shock to the entire community. She had resided here for so many years and by her kindly ways, her friends are numbered by her acquaintances.

Mrs. Robinson appeared to be in perfect health. She, on the day of her death, was attending to the duties about the house. Her husband and her son, Ralph, were in the city in the afternoon attending a funeral. Mrs. Robinson was operating the sewing machine and Miss Truesdale was about the house. A little after four o’clock Miss Truesdale noticed Mrs. Robinson was trembling and apparently in distress. She carried her to the bedroom where she soon became unconscious. Medical attention was summoned and she was taken to the Coleman hospital. She was afflicted with a severe heart attack from which she passed away at five the following morning.

Mrs. Robinson came here with her father in 1892 and entered school in this city. We have known her personally since she became a member of the school and we believe we can safely say there was never a finer girl in the schools nor one who cultivated the friendship of the students to a greater extent then Florence Haynes, later Florence Robinson. She was born in Morris, Ill, in 1876 and was united to Irwin Robinson in 1897 soon after graduation from the schools.

She is survived by her husband, her son, Ralph, still at home and Earl of this city and a daughter, Mrs. Sampson of California; two brothers, Dr. Benja[min] Haynes of Blue Earth, Minn., and Dr. H. A. Haynes of Chicago.

The funeral services were held from the Methodist Church Tuesday, the Rev. F. W. Ortmeyer officiating. Interment was made in the Oak Hill cemetery. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, September 11, 1935)
