Mrs. Eudora Robb, Former Resident, Dies at Iowa Falls

Mrs. Eudora [Clow] Robb, a former resident of Estherville, died suddenly at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carl Egbert of Iowa Falls, on Thursday [April 18, 1940] afternoon of a severe heart attack.

Mrs. Robb, the widow of Wesley Robb, a prominent farmer and stock buyer, who resided here for many years, has been making her home with her children since the death of Mr. Robb. Mrs. Robb came here 47 years ago, moving to the farm southeast of town, which has always been designated as the Robb farm.

Mrs. Robb was born in Illinois on June 15, 1861, and was united to Wesley Robb at Mazon in 1880. She came to Estherville with her husband and their family in 1902 and resided on North Seventh street. Mrs. Robb was a great lover of home and her family, and devoted her entire life to keeping up a home for her husband and her family. With her the welfare of her children came first, but she never failed to be helpful to her friend and her neighbor.

She leaves to mourn her death her sons, George Robb of Estherville, Walter of Dickens, N.D., and daughters, Mrs. Earl Egbert of Iowa Falls, Mrs. Olive Miller of Lincoln, Nebr., Mrs. H. Kendall of Lincoln, Nebr., Emmet Robb of Berkley, Calif.

The remains were brought to this city from Iowa Falls to be laid to rest in the family lot besides the remains of her husband. The funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon from the George Robb home in this city, and from the Methodist church. The Rev. Fred Sawyer, in the absence of Rev. Ortmeyer, officiated at the service. Interment was made in Oak Hill cemetery. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, April 25, 1940)

Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Kendall and the latter’s sister, Mrs. Monte Miller of Lincoln, Nebr., were Saturday evening and Monday morning callers at the Mrs. Nettie Kendall home, enroute to and from Estherville where they went to attend the funeral services for Mrs. H. H. Kendall’s mother, Mrs. Wesley Robb. Mrs. Robb, 79, widow of the late Wesley Robb, who was a prominent stock buyer in Estherville for years prior to his death in 1924, died at Iowa Falls Thursday of a heart attack. She had been living of late with her daughter, Mrs. Carl Egbert, and had been in her usual good health. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church, the Rev. R. T. Chipperfield of Fostoria, a former pastor, officiating. (Milford Mail, Milford, IA, April 25, 1940)
