Mrs. Guy Noel, 72, Dies Unexpectedly
Mrs. Guy Noel, 72, longtime Estherville resident, died suddenly at 4:30 p.m. yesterday of a stroke. Mrs. Noel had complained of not feeling well yesterday morning and her physician had been summoned shortly before noon.

At that time her condition was not considered serious, but she didn’t seem to improve and was taken to Holy Family Hospital an hour preceding death.

The daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Collins, Malitta Pearl Collins was born June 5, 1885, at Lohrville and attended the Lohrville schools.

She was united in marriage to Guy Noel May 4, 1904 at her parents’ farm home. Mr. and Mrs. Noel made their home at Chariton until 1913 at which time they moved to Estherville where Mr. Noel has since been associated with Northern Lumber Co.

Mrs. Noel was a member of the Order of Eastern star, the Social Order of Beauceant and Past Matrons of O.E.S. She and Mr. Noel also were charter members of White Shrine.

Survivors in addition to her husband include two daughters, Mrs. Russell (Corinne) Peterson of Estherville and Mrs. William (Nadine) Hanlin of Grand Rapids, Minn.; a son, Robert of Bloomington, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Beckwith of Rockwell City and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 10, 1957)
