Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Kirk received word of the death of their granddaughter Ava Nick an army nurse in California. She passed away due to a brain operation. Her body is expected to arrive in Estherville this week for burial. (Spirit Lake Beacon, Spirit Lake, IA, August 18, 1949) [Per CA Death Index, dob 28 Sep 1915, Minn.; dod 20 Aug 1949]

We wish to express our appreciation for the thoughtfulness and kindness of friends and neighbors at the time of services for our daughter, Ava Nick, Army Nurse.
