The second victim of heart disease this week [November 11, 1935] was Miss Rosella Nass, 25, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Nass residing on the farm east of Estherville known as the Foshier place. Miss Nass had seemingly been in good health and was assisting with the work about the place when stricken. She was found in the yard near the house by her father at 11 a.m.
The deceased young woman was born on August 19, 1910 at Wittemore. She was educated in Kossuth county schools and came to Emmet county with her parents six years ago.
Mourning her untimely death are two sisters, Mrs. Will Shaeller of West Bend, and Pauline at home and five brothers, Gotlieb of Fairmont, Minn., Daniel and Walter, members of the CCC camp at Missouri Valley, Sam and William at home. Sam was the winner of the Emmet county corn husking contest.
Last Rites for Miss Nass were held this afternoon from the German Lutheran church with Rev. Otis Lang in charge. Short prayer services were held at one-thirty at the home with the church services at two. Burial will be made in Oak Hill cemetery. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, November 14, 1935)
