Joe Harvey, 32, Dies at Rochester

Joseph Clarence "Joe" Harvey, 32, lifetime resident of the Gruver area, died Saturday at 1:15 p.m. in St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minn. He had been in failing health for the past several years. His death was caused by cancer. He was the father of two young sons.

Joseph C. Harvey was born April 22, 1932, at Holy Family Hospital, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Harvey.

After his graduation from the Gruver elementary and high schools, he served for four years with the United States Air Force and upon his release from the service, engaged in farming with his father.

He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, of the Knights of Columbus and the Wallingford Post of American Legion.

Joseph Clarence Harvey and Maxine Juhl of Estherville, were married in Estherville on June 1, 1959, and became the parents of two sons, Alan John, 4, and Brian, 3.

Surviving his death are his widow, their two sons, his parents and two sisters, Sister Mary Loretta O.S.B., Madison, Wis., and Mrs. Robert (Theresa) Schiltz of Albert Lea, Minn.

Funeral services are to be held tomorrow (Tuesday) at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, the Rt. Rev. Msgr. James H. Duhigg officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's cemetery. There will be a Rosary this evening at 8:30 o'clock. Friends may call at Fuhrman Funeral Home until time of the services tomorrow.

Pallbearers will be Donald Quastad, Ralph Torreson, Arnold Olson, Harold Carr, William Pierson and James Kirk Jr.

According to his family, a memorial, in his name, has been established for the Emmet County Cancer Society.
