A. TREDWAY DIED LAST MONDAY
Had Been Ill For Some Time At Country Home
FUNERAL HELD TODAY
Resident Of This Community Four Years—Had Many Friends Here

Alvin Treadway died at his country home two miles north and a half mile east of this city last Monday morning. He had been in poor health for some time prior to his death and while the end was not unexpected, it came as a shock to his immediate family and large circle of friends. He was held in the highest esteem by his friends and neighbors and there is general sorrow over his death. Mr. Treadway was a man of strong character, unquestioned integrity and industry and was a general favorite with those who knew him best. While a resident of this community only a short time he was well and most favorably known,

Mr. Treadway was born in Jefferson county, New York on May 24th, 1860 and died at his home Monday June 6th, being sixty-one years of age at the time he answered the final call to rest. With his parents he moved to Illinois when but a child and grew to young manhood there. He then came to Sac county, Iowa where he was married to Miss Florence B. Wiseman on October 6th, 1891. To this union four children were born, Vern, Dorothy, Moody and Ruth all of whom live at the country home north-east of this city. Besides the immediate family he leaves to mourn his departure two brothers, L.C. of Huron, S.D. and Dennis Dem___ter of Edmonston, Alberta, Canada, and three sisters, Mrs. W. Sutherland of Dunkirk, Sask., Canada, Mrs. Frank J. Dean of Huron, S.D., and Mrs. Joe H____ of this city. Funeral services are being held this afternoon at the home. Rev. Voorhies, of the Presbyterian church in charge. ____________ extending sympathy to the family and friends in this dark hour of sorrow. A kind and loving father and husband is gone. A true friend and neighbor has been called to the reward of a life well spent in the service of his fellowmen. This community has lost a good citizen. His death is generally mourned.
