Rites Held Tuesday for George Longman at Estherville
Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon at the Baptist Church in Estherville for George A. Longman, 66, of Estherville, who died at 8 o’clock Saturday evening at the Park View Clinic there. He was a brother of Mrs. Wilda Harms of Lanesboro, mother of George Harms of Carroll.

Relatives from this vicinity attending the rites were: Mrs. George Harms and Mrs. LaVern Harms of Carroll, Herman Harms of Sac City and Mrs. Viola Mantz of Lanesboro. Mrs. Wilda Harms was unable to attend becaue of illness.

Mr. Longman was born May 10, 1878 in Des Moines. In 1905 he married Emma Shuttleworth at Carroll. They were the parents of eight children, six of whom preceded their father in death.

He is survived by his widow, a daughter, Mrs. Verl Wilson, one son, Clyde, all of Estherville, and his sister, Mrs. Harms of Lanesboro.

A little over a year ago Mr. Longman became very ill, and never fully regained his health. (Carroll Times Herald, Carroll, IA, February 2, 1944)
