Young Life Stricken
Mrs. L. G. Lee Passed to Her Reward After an Illness of Six Weeks

Mrs. N. G. Lee died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. O. Johnson, in this city Saturday evening, May 24th, after an illness of about six weeks. Funeral was held from the Norwegian Lutheran church Tuesday afternoon conducted by Rev. J. J. Akre and interment made in Oak Hill cemetery.

Amanda Serena Johnson was born April 14, 1895, in Estherville and her life from childhood to womanhood was spent in this city. Last years she was a student in the high school, being a member of the junior class. In the fall she was united in marriage to Mr. N. G. Lee, with whom she lived happily until stricken by death.

A little boy came to brighten their life six weeks ago but serious illness followed and notwithstanding the skill of the best physicians the life of the young mother passed to its Maker just as the sun of a bright day was sinking in the west.

Deceased was a most estimable young lady and a general favorite among her associates. She enjoyed life but was not forgetful of the comforts and happiness of others. Her life was a ray of sunshine in her home and while it may now seem dark and dreary to the stricken ones in their great sorrow there should be the comforting thought that only memories of a sweet and pure life will remain with them.

The floral offerings were numerous and very beautiful and were sweet tokens of the high esteem in which deceased was held by her many friends.

The pall bearers were: The Misses Bertha Benson, Lillie Wee, Lena Vestrum, Winnie Rugtiv, Marie Akre and Anna Mattson, high school class mates.

A little baby boy, husband, father and mother and two brothers, Norman and Peter S. Johnson, are left to mourn this untimely death. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, May 28, 1913)
