ESTHERVILLE – Wilfred L. (Bill) Reed, 66, Estherville, died June 28 at University Hospitals, Iowa City, following a lengthy illness.
Services for Mr. Reed will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Estherville, with the Rev. Max Goldman officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery.
Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, is in charge of arrangements; where friends may call until 12:30 p.m. Saturday, when the body will be taken to the church.
The son of Dr. and Mrs. A.I. Reed, he was born March 21, 1912, at Grand Junction. He received his education in the Grand Junction and Estherville school systems, attended Estherville Junior College and graduated form the University of Iowa.
Mr. Reed was married to Irene K. Heyer on Nov. 3, 1935, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. He spent most of his life in the Estherville area.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Estherville, of the Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity and a Boy Scout leader in Des Moines.
Mr. Reed is survived by his wife, Irene, Estherville; one son, K.E. (Joe) Reed, Cherry Hill, M.J.; two daughter, Kate Bauman, Newton and Karen Powell, Des Moines; six grandchildren; and one brother, Russell E. Reed, Kansas City, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one brother and one sister.
