Funeral Services Held for Couple

Joint funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Milo (Mike) Nemmers are to be Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, the Rt. Rev. Msgr. James H. Duhigg of St. Patrick’s Church and Rev. H. Allen Wirtz of First Presbyterian Church officiating.

Mr. Nemmer’s body will be taken to Bird Island, Minn., for interment in the Bird Island Catholic Cemetery and Mrs. Nemmers will be buried here in the East Side Cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Nemmers died as the result of injuries suffered in an auto accident Sunday afternoon. Mr. Nemmers died shortly after the accident and Mrs. Nemmers, who never regained consciousness, died Monday about 5:30 a.m.

The former Stella Harriett Nelson was born May 28, 1916 at Wallingford, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William L. Nelson. She received her education in the elementary School in Wallingford and Gruver High School.

In April, 1937, she was married to Joy Daily and the couple made their home in Estherville. For many years Mrs. Daily was a nurse’s aid at Holy Family Hospital. Mr. Daily died Dec. 11, 1963.

Later, April 16, 1966, she was married to Milo Nemmers of Estherville.

Mrs. Nemmers was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her son, Jerry Daily of Fairhaven, Mass., six grandchildren; two brothers, Theodore and Delmer Nelson of Estherville; and on sister, Mrs. Leslie (Lenora) Sidles of Estherville.

She was preceded in death by her first husband and her parents.

Pallbearers fro Mrs. Nemmers are Glenn L. Story, Charles Baker, Robert Stevens, Donald Bisgard, Roscoe Waterman, and Al Ringham.

Milo Michael Nemmers was born July 12, 1918, at Bird Island, Minn., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nicolas Nemmers. He graduated from high school in Bird Island and received his B.A. degree in Architectural Engineering at St. John’s college, Collegeville, Minn. Mr. Nemmers moved to Estherville in 1961, where he was employed by the Dale Jacob son Engineering Firm, Inc.

He was a member of the Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Mr. Nemmers is survived by his step-son, Jerry Daily, six step-grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Lucia Nemmers of Olivia, Minn., and one brother, George Nemmers of Appleton, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Pallbearers for Mr. Nemmers are Murel Boehme, Francis Vaderhagen, Florian
Steil, Joe Steil, Cletus Mercier, and James Grabon.

Furhman Fuenral Home had charge of arrangements.
