Mary Gwendolen Ward Soeth, 94, Estherville, died Friday, June 11, at the Good Samaritan Center.

She was born Nov. 18, 1876, at Merriposa to Mr. and Mrs. S.R. Ward.

She received her education in the Merriposa schools and was a member of the class of Buena Vista Academy in Storm Lake.

On Feb. 12, 1896, she was united in marriage to Marin L. Soeth in Storm Lake. The family moved to Emmet County in 1913. Mr. Soeth died Jan. 8, 1947.

Mrs. Soeth was an organizer of the girls 4-H club in Emmet County and a 50-year member of D.A.R.

She is survived by two sons, Max Soeth, Estherville, and A.W. Soeth, Moorhead, Minn.; seven grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Earl Patterson, Phoenix, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday at the Fuhrman Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Headen officiating. Burial was in East Side Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Berald Anderson, Byrl Felkey, Fred Pjeifer, John Soeth, Mark Soeth and Martin Soeth.
