Funeral Sunday For Olai Opsal
ARMSTRONG, Ia.—Funeral services for Olai Opsal, 62, Armstrong, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Nazareth Lutheran church with the Rev. H. E. Rasmussen and the Rev. L.G. Hinderaker, officiating. Burial will be Armstrong Grove cemetery.
Mr. Opsal died late Tuesday at Veterans hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D., where he had been a patient seven days.
Born June 6, 1890, at Vikedal, Norway, he came to the United States when a young man and settled in the Armstrong vicinity.
Besides his widow, he is survived by three sons, Effner and Lyndon, both of Armstrong, and Leroy serving in the army in Germany, who was granted leave to attend funeral services; a daughter, Mrs. Melvin Brown, Armstrong; a granddaughter, Karen Tweedt, of the home; two brothers, John, Los Angeles, and Andrew, Armstrong; a sister who lives in Norway. A daughter preceded him in death.
