Funeral Services for Small Boy Held Thursday
Funeral services for Wayne James Dean, small son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Dean, Jr., were held Thursday afternoon from the Presbyterian church and interment made in Oak Hill cemetery. Little Wayne was two and a half years old. He had been ailing for several months and had been taken to Iowa City three weeks ago and passed away there last Tuesday, Nov. 12. His death was due to lymphatic leukemia. His parents, and grandmother, Mrs. Walter Dean, Sr., Herb Dean and Chas. Beaver, uncles were at Iowa City and came to Estherville with the little body. Infant Son of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Dies Tuesday
Wayne James Dean, 2 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Dean, Jr., died Tuesday morning at the children’s hospital at Iowa City after an illness of about six weeks. The child had been in Iowa city for the last three weeks with his grandmother, Mrs. Walter Dean, Sr., and his uncles, Charles Beaver and Herbert Dean.

Wayne was born on a farm northwest of Estherville January, 1926 but has lived in Estherville practically all his life. He is survived by his parents, a sister, Shirley Jean, 8 months old, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Beaver and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Dean, Sr.

Funeral services will be held this afternoon at the house at 1:30 and at the Presbyterian Church at 2. The Rev. Davies will officiate. Out-of-town relatives who are here to attend the funeral are Mr. and Mrs. Wylie Dean and family of Laurens and Mr. Derley Stone of Fort Dodge and Mrs. Burkeholder of Perry.
