Mrs. Phoebe Anna Cooley died Wednesday night of last week [August 17, 1898] at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. R. Dow, aged 73 years. Funeral services were held from the residence Friday afternoon and the body laid to rest in the Oak Hill cemetery. An only daughter and two grandchildren have the sympathy of neighbors in their sad bereavement. (Emmet County Republican, Estherville, IA, August 25, 1898)
