John Zitterich Dies; Stricken Early Thursday

John Arnold Zitterich of Estherville died this morning at 4 o’clock at Holy Family hospital on the day he would have celebrated his 56th birthday [per cemetery records, April 27].

He had been hospitalized since Thursday after he had been stricken with a hemorrhage while crossing Central avenue near the Iowa Trust and Savings bank. Taken to Holy Family, he had been in a coma since Monday.

A long-time resident of Estherville and vicinity he was engaged in farming and in doing odd jobs.

Survivors include seven brothers; Fred and George of Estherville, Henry of Terril, Ed and Jake of Graettinger, Louis of Sherburn and Albert in Texas; and three sisters, Mrs. Henry Michael of Estherville, Mrs. John Zerke of Cherokee and a sister in Minneapolis.
