Mrs. J. W. Perry Dead
Mrs. J. W. Perry died at her home in Goldfield Wednesday night. She had been sick only a few days. The funeral was held in the Baptist church Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock. The Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen had charge of the funeral. Burial was made in Oak Hill cemetery.Angella Lucas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Lucas, was born in Estherville, April 1887. She spent practically all her life in this city. In April, 1907, Miss Lucas was married to J. W. Perry. No children were born to this union. Mr. Perry is a brakeman on the Chicago & Northwestern railway. They have been living at Goldfield but a short time.
Mrs. Perry was a fine young lady. She had many friends here who join in extending sympathy to the husband, parents and other relatives. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, November 10, 1909)
Mrs. John Perry died very suddenly at Eagle Grove on Thursday, Nov. 4th. She was taken sick Wednesday evening and died early the following morning of convulsions. Deceased was twenty-two years of age and a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lucas of this city. She was born and raised in this city and had many friends who will regret to learn of her untimely demise. In April 1908 she was married to John Perry and a year ago they removed to Eagle Grove where Mr. Perry is employed as a brakeman on the Northwestern. The remains arrived Friday evening and Saturday funeral services were held in the Baptist church, conducted by Rev. Benjamin Franklin and the remains interred in Oak Hill Cemetery.
