ARMSTRONG--Clarence Emmet Carrithers was born Feb. 16, 1872 near Washburn, Ill,. in Woodfort county and passed away March, 24, 1952 at Holy Family hospital, Estherville, Ia., following a heart attack suffered two weeks before his death.

He lived with his parents on their farm until he was a young man. In 1897 he was united in marriage to Edith Jane Jackson. To this union four children were born, two preceded their father in death.

In 1903 he and his family moved to Corning, Iowa, where they lived until 1920 when they moved to Gruver, Iowa, and later to Armstrong where they have since made their home.

Mr. Carrithers leaves to mourn his departure, his wife and two children, Emory of Armstrong, and one daughter, Mrs. Gladys Meiners of Ottawa, Ill.; five granchildren; two great-grandchildren and three sisters.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m., March 27, from the First Methodist church with the Rev. S.E. Polovins in charge. Internment was made in Armstrong Grove cemetery.
