Ernest Kirchner Dead
Ernest Kirchner, brother of Harry Kirchner, died of asthma at the home of the latter at five o’clock last Saturday morning. Mr. Kirchner made his home with his brother, Henry, for the greater part of forty years, and had been with him almost constantly for the past twenty years. He was an unmarried man and for the past few years has spent a great deal of his time reading, work being difficult on account of his disease. It is said that he was well acquainted with every business house in the city and almost every citizen lost from his close perusal of the county papers. In the many years spent with his brother here he was not in the city perhaps more than once and his actual acquaintances here were few.

Ernest Kirchner was born in Sexenweimer, Germany, in the month of January in the year 1846, and died August 8 [9], 1913. He came to this country about twenty years ago and lived with his brother in Illinois, and moved here with him many years ago.

The funeral services were held from the home of Henry Kirchner on route five, Rev. Hurd of the Christian church officiating. Interment was made in Oak Hill cemetery. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, August 13, 1913)

Aged Man Gone
Ernest B. Kirchner Died Saturday, August 9th
Earnest B. Kirchner, brother of Henry Kirchner, who resides north of this city, died of bronchial asthma, at the latter’s home Saturday, August 9th, at the age of 76 years, 7 months and 6 days. Deceased was a highly respected gentleman and his friends were numbered by his acquaintances.

He was born in Wimner Saxon, Germany, and came to American from Germany forty-five years ago. He had been a resident of this place for seventeen years.

The funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. Hurd and the body laid in its final resting place in Oak Hill cemetery, Monday, August 11th.

He leaves to mourn his death one brother, three nephews and three nieces, Anna B. Pierce, Ashton, Ill., Sophia Shatten, Sioux Falls, William Kirchner, Estherville, Edward Kirchner, Estherville, Geo. Kirchner, Woodstock, Minn., Pearl Kirchner, Estherville. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, August 13, 1913)
