Mrs. Clara Sanborn Died at Armstrong Last Saturday

Mrs. Clara Sanborn passed away at Armstrong on Saturday [November 3, 1934] last after an illness of several years. She has been able to be about some but she has been in failing health and in a critical condition for sometime past.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed Sanborn came to this city about 1895. In 1909 they moved to Texas on account of the failing health of Mr. Sanborn. After his death some three years later, she continued to reside in Texas until the last few years when she moved to Swea City to reside with her son, Clyde Sanborn.

Mrs. Sanborn was beloved by all who knew her while she resided in this city. She was a wonderful neighbor, quiet and reserved, but a perfect lady always.

The funeral services were held on Tuesday. After a brief service at the Mahlum & Anderson parlors, services were held from the Christian church. The remains were laid to rest in the family lot in Oak Hill cemetery. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, November 7, 1934)
