We omitted to mention last week the birth of a bright baby girl at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walt Sampson on the 11th last.[May 11, 1917] (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, May 23, 1917)

Infant Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Sampson Dead
Celia, the two months old daughter of Mr and Mrs. W. H. Sampson, died in the family home in this city last Monday. [June 25, 1917] The little flower had not been strong since birth and the end was not unexpected by the parents and friends. Funeral services were held from the home Monday afternoon, Rev. [?] ministering to the family in their dark hour of affliction. They have the sympathy of the entire community in the loss of the sweet little life that had been entrusted to their keeping for such a short time. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, June 27, 1917)
