D. S. Hewitt Dead
D. S. Hewitt died very suddenly at two o'clock Sunday morning at his home six miles southwest of this city. The cause of his death was apoplexy. Two years ago he had a stroke but recovered. He complained Saturday evening of a severe headache and retired about eight o'clock. About 9:30 he was taken with convulsions and a doctor was immediately called. He did not regain consciousness and passed away at two o'clock.

He was sixty-seven years of age at the time of his death and resided on the farm where he died for the past nineteen years. He was born in Ohio and came to Illinois when eight years of age and remained there until he came to Iowa. A wife and four children remain to mourn his sudden taking away. Funeral services will be held at the home at ten o'clock Wednesday forenoon and burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, June 26, 1912)
