Obituary of Elliot Wheeler
Elliot Wheeler was born September 23, 1856, and died at his home in Estherville, December 1st [s/b 31st], aged 76 years, three months and nine days. He moved with his parents to Belvidere, Ill., when a small boy where he grew to manhood, later moving to Estherville where he has since resided. He served faithfully as an employee of the railroad for thirty-three years in the capacity of towerman at the C.R.I. & P. and St. L. crossing south of town.Mr. Wheeler had been in poor health for sometime, but was confined to his room but a few days at the last.
Mr. Wheeler is survived by his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Nora Ryan, of New York City; one step-son, Homer Cleveland of Estherville; one sister, Mrs. Sadie Craig of Milwaukee; one brother, George Wheeler of Belvidere, Ill.; a nephew, Frank Holmes of Wisconsin; a niece, Mrs. F. Misenor, of Estherville; besides a host of other relatives and friends. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, January 6, 1932)
