Grace Swartz Marcue Dead
Dies in Hospital in Le Mars, Ia.
Mrs. Grace Swartz Marcue, only daughter of Mrs. Albert Swartz, died Saturday in a Le Mars hospital from embolism. Funeral services were held at Le Mars Monday, with all members of the family attending.

Grace Swartz was born Oct. 14, 1896, at Wenons, Ill., and when four years old her parents moved to Estherville. She was graduated from the Estherville high school in 1915 and two years late from the Iowa State Teachers College. She taught in Le Mars public schools and on Dec. 1, 1920, was married to Ralph Marcue of Le Mars.

She was a Past Matron of the Eastern Star, president of the American Legion Auxiliary, a member of the Methodist Episcopal church since 12 years of age, and a member of the Sunday school board and of the official board of her church at the time of her death.

Mrs. Marcue is survived by her husband, two sons, Donald, 6, and Wm. Albert, born Aug. 21, 1929, her mother, Mrs. Albert Swartz, and six brothers, Ira, Will, Frank, Raymond, Lawrence, and Leslie. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Cummings, Mrs. Walter Blagg, Mrs. J. Ramsey, and Mrs. Elmer Jackson of Estherville also attended the funeral Monday. (Estherville News, Estherville, IA, September 5, 1929)
