Mrs. E. I. Stanhope, of Humboldt Dies After Long Illness
The death of Mrs. E. I. Stanhope, while not unexpected for the past few days, came as a shock to the Mahlum family of this city and to the many friends of Mrs. Stanhope residing here.

Mrs. Stanhope grew to womanhood in this city and graduated from our high school in 92. She was an exceeding bright student and was a favorite while in school.

Her husband with a brother and father were in business in this city for many years. After closing out the business here they moved to Humboldt where they have resided since that time. Her father, Wm. Mahlum, is still living in this city as is her two brothers, Albert and Henry.

The funeral services were held in Humboldt on Tuesday and interment was made in the cemetery in that city. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, March 16, 1932)
