John Frederick Sizer Passes Away
Another old time resident of this city passed away at his home in this city last Friday. Mr. Sizer who was almost seventy years of age, has not been active in his work here for the past few years. In the early day he operated a dray business and was active in many things in this city.

John Frederick Sizer was born at Lybrand, Allamakee county in the year 1858 and grew to manhood there. In the year 1879 he moved with his parents to Spirit Lake where he lived for eight years. He was married to Esther Stillwell in 1881 and to this union there were five children born. Ernest deceased, Amy, Charles, Cleveland and Willard. He also leaves to mourn one sister, Mrs. Rose Eglin, of Mason City; and one brother, W. A. Sizer of Kalispel, Mont. His wife died in 1919 but a portion of the family have been kept together and the home residence has always been in this city.

The funeral services were held on Monday afternoon from the home, the Rev. Yearnd officiating. The remains were laid to rest in Oak Hill cemetery. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, June 15, 1927)
